Ken Waters is a veteran, father and business leader from Elkhorn running to represent District 1 on the Learning Community Coordinating Council, serving families across Elkhorn, Bennington and Douglas and Sarpy Counties.
The Learning Community oversees millions of taxpayer dollars dedicated to helping children and families succeed through early childhood programs, family support and cross-district collaboration. This important work requires strong fiscal oversight, proven leadership and a deep commitment to the community.

Ken Waters is the founder and CEO of a veteran-owned workforce and advisory firm operating across multiple states. He previously served in executive leadership roles in healthcare, nonprofit, and municipal government. Ken spent more than 20 years in the United States Air Force and served as a Human Resources leader.

Through leadership roles with Bags of Fun Omaha, healthcare organizations and workforce nonprofits, Ken has worked directly with families facing real challenges. He understands how early support, family engagement and strong community partnerships make a lasting difference.
A father raising a family in the community, Ken has also served as Board President of Bags of Fun Omaha, on the Board of Boots & Suits United, and on Nebraska's Future Business Leaders (FBLA) Advisory Council and lives in Elkhorn.

As a husband and father raising his son in Elkhorn, Ken is personally invested in the strength and future of the community. He believes leadership should be steady, accountable, and focused on long-term impact.
